Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PDF Breeze, an iOS application developed and operated by Penguin Labs ("we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using PDF Breeze, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the app.

Eligibility

PDF Breeze does not require you to create an account. To download the app you must have an Apple ID and be at least 13 years of age (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Permitted Use of the App

PDF Breeze is licensed to you for personal and professional use. You may use the app to:

  • Sign, fill, and annotate PDF documents
  • Scan physical documents using your device camera
  • Merge, split, and extract pages from PDF files
  • Compress PDF files to reduce their size
  • Password-protect PDF documents
  • Convert images and Word documents to PDF format
  • Extract text from scanned documents using OCR

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Process documents containing illegal, harmful, or rights-infringing content
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits or subscription checks
  • Resell or commercially redistribute the app or its output without prior written consent from Penguin Labs
  • Use the app to forge or fraudulently alter documents

Free Tier & Usage Limits

PDF Breeze offers a free tier with access to all ten tools, limited to 3 actions per calendar month. Free tier exports include a watermark. There are no ads.

Usage limits reset at the start of each calendar month. We reserve the right to adjust free tier limits with reasonable notice.

Subscriptions & Payments

Premium Plans

PDF Breeze offers optional Premium subscriptions (monthly at $2.99/month, or annual at $19.99/year) that unlock unlimited actions, watermark-free exports, and the ability to save multiple signatures. Prices are in USD and may vary by region.

Free Trial

A 7-day free trial is available on the annual plan for new subscribers. Cancellation must occur at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple and is typically limited to one per Apple ID.

Auto-Renewal

Premium subscriptions are auto-renewable and managed through Apple's App Store. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date via your Apple ID settings.

Refunds

All purchases are final and non-refundable unless required by applicable law. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple via the App Store or at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Electronic Signatures

PDF Breeze allows you to draw and apply electronic signatures to PDF documents. You acknowledge that:

  • You are solely responsible for ensuring any signature you apply is legally valid in your jurisdiction and context
  • PDF Breeze provides the technical means to apply a signature image but does not provide legal advice
  • The legal enforceability of an electronic signature varies by jurisdiction and document type
  • You must only apply signatures that you are authorised to use

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the PDF Breeze app — including its design, code, branding, and user interface — are owned by Penguin Labs. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose.

You retain all ownership rights to the documents you import and process within the app. We do not claim any ownership over your documents or the annotations you create.

Disclaimer of Warranties

PDF Breeze is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy of OCR text extraction results
  • Warranties that any defects will be corrected
  • Warranties regarding the legal sufficiency of electronic signatures produced

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Penguin Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of PDF Breeze, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data, documents, or annotations stored locally
  • Reliance on OCR-extracted text accuracy
  • Interruption of service
  • Legal consequences arising from the use of electronic signatures
  • Document corruption during processing

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the app and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of PDF Breeze after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
