Written Proposal for FirstMove: Closing the gap between dreaming and doing for ambitious women.
First Move — Written Proposal 🚀
Hackathon Submission: RevenueCat Shipyard 2026
Influencer Brief: 📝 Gabby Beckford (PacksLight)
The Problem 🛑
Gabby Beckford has spent years inspiring a community of over one million ambitious women to live bold, adventurous lives — solo travel, remote careers, financial freedom, and everything in between.
But as Gabby herself says, there's still a "massive gap between inspiration and action."
Her audience watches the videos, saves the posts, and dreams big — but too many stay stuck, waiting for permission, waiting to feel confident, or waiting for a sign.
Social media is great for sparking motivation. But motivation fades.
What her community needs is a system — something that takes their biggest dreams and breaks them down into small, daily, undeniably doable steps. Something that celebrates every win along the way.
The Solution: First Move ✨
First Move is an iOS app that helps ambitious women close the gap between dreaming and doing — one small step at a time.
The core idea is simple: pick a dream (like planning your first solo trip, landing a remote job, or trying the nomad lifestyle), and First Move turns it into a structured daily path of micro-actions.
Each day, the user gets one small challenge — researched, curated, and designed to take just 5-15 minutes.
Complete it, and the app celebrates with:
- 🎉 Confetti
- 🔥 Streak tracking
- 🏅 Badges
- 📔 Private wins journal
First Move combines mindset with micro-actions, exactly what Gabby asked for.
How It Works 🛠️
1. Choose Your Path 🛤️
Users browse a library of curated Paths — multi-week programs aligned with Gabby's core topics:
| Path | Duration | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Plan Your First Solo Trip | 30 Days | From passport checks to booking flights ✈️ |
| Land a Remote Job | 45 Days | From resume revamp to offer negotiation 💼 |
| Try Nomad Life | 30 Days | Digital nomad essentials and first-month planning 🌍 |
| Study Abroad | Variable | Exploring global education opportunities 🎓 |
Free users get access to one active path at a time. Premium unlocks all paths simultaneously.
2. Daily Micro-Actions ⚡
Each day delivers a single, focused challenge. Examples:
- Day 1 (Solo Travel): "Check your passport expiration date. If it expires within 6 months, start the renewal process today."
- Day 8 (Remote Job): "Spend 10 minutes updating your LinkedIn headline to signal you're open to remote work."
- Day 15 (Nomad Life): "Research 3 cities with strong digital nomad communities and pick your top choice."
Every challenge includes an estimated time, a clear description, and optional resource links (articles, tools, Gabby's YouTube videos).
The Goal: Zero friction. Open the app, see what to do, do it, move on with your day feeling accomplished.
3. Celebrate Every Win 🥳
This is where First Move comes alive. Completing a challenge triggers:
- Confetti animation — full-screen celebration, because every step matters
- Streak tracking — current streak and personal best, with fire emoji energy 🔥
- Badge unlocks — milestone achievements like "First Step," "Week One Warrior," "Passport Ready," "Flight Booked," and "Journey Complete"
- Wins Journal — a private photo + caption diary where users document their progress, creating a personal highlight reel of their transformation
4. Track Your Progress 📈
The Progress tab gives users a visual snapshot of their journey:
- 🟢 Apple Health-style progress ring showing path completion
- 🔥 Streak stats (current and longest)
- 🏆 Badge collection grid (unlocked badges glow; locked ones tease what's ahead)
- 📸 Gallery of Wins Journal entries — proof they're doing it
Why First Move Fits Gabby's Brief 🎯
Gabby asked for an app that combines mindset with micro-actions, featuring daily challenges, wins tracking, and gamification. She wanted confetti when users achieve their dreams.
She said: "Show me how you would help ambitious women go from dreaming to doing as fast and as fun as possible."
First Move delivers exactly that:
| Gabby's Ask | First Move's Answer |
|---|---|
| Mindset + micro-actions | Curated daily challenges that are small enough to start but meaningful enough to matter |
| Daily challenges | One challenge per day, every day, for the duration of the path |
| Wins tracking | Private Wins Journal with photos and captions |
| Gamification | Streaks, badges (8+), progress rings, and milestone celebrations |
| Confetti | Full-screen confetti animation on every completed challenge |
| Ambitious, worldly, warm | Design language built around coral/gold warmth, empowering copy, and a celebration-first UX |
Monetization Strategy (RevenueCat) 💰
First Move uses RevenueCat to power a freemium subscription model:
Free Tier 🆓
- Access to one active path at a time
- Full access to daily challenges, streaks, badges, wins journal, and progress tracking
- Basic resource library
Premium Tier 💎
$9.99/month or $59/year (save 50%)
- 🔓 All paths unlocked simultaneously
- 📚 Exclusive Gabby content library (bonus videos and guides)

Why this works for Gabby's audience:
- The free tier gives users a complete, valuable experience — no bait-and-switch.
- Premium appeals to power users who want to pursue multiple goals simultaneously.
- Challenge packs (paths) are inherently expandable — new paths = new revenue without annoying existing users.
- Free trial (7 days) lowers the barrier to trying premium.
RevenueCat Integration Highlights 🛠️
- Dynamic pricing pulled from RevenueCat offerings
- Free trial detection and display
- Subscription status synced in real-time via delegate pattern
- Restore purchases support
- Paywall triggered naturally when users try to access premium-locked paths

Target Audience 👩💻
First Move is designed for Gabby's core audience: women in their late 20s to late 40s who are smart, ambitious, and want to live bold lives.
They're already motivated — they follow Gabby because they want more from life. What they lack isn't inspiration; it's a system that makes the first step feel easy and the journey feel rewarding.
The app's tone is:
- Warm but direct
- Celebratory but not patronizing
- Treats users as capable adults who just need a nudge and a plan
Key Differentiators 🔑
-
Creator-aligned content: Paths are built around Gabby's core topics (travel, career, lifestyle), with resource links back to her content. This isn't a generic habit tracker — it's an extension of Gabby's mission.
-
Completion-focused design: Unlike open-ended habit apps, First Move has a clear endpoint. You finish a 30-day path and you've actually done the thing — planned a trip, applied for jobs, set up your nomad life. The progress ring fills. The "Journey Complete" badge unlocks. It's done.
-
Private by default: The Wins Journal is a personal space, not a social feed. Users document their journey for themselves — no likes, no followers, no comparison. This aligns with the mindset-first approach.
-
Expandable content model: New paths can be added over time (e.g., "Negotiate Your Salary," "Start a Side Business," "Move Abroad"), creating an ever-growing library that keeps users subscribed and engaged.
Summary 📝

It breaks big, overwhelming goals into daily 5-15 minute actions, celebrates every step with confetti and badges, and gives users a private space to watch their own transformation unfold.
It's ambitious, worldly, and warm — just like the community it's built for.
